About St. Aidan’s

St. Aidan’s is a mixed school under the patronage of the bishop of Killaloe. The school was established in 1982 following a long campaign to cater for a growing population. The school started on the 1st of September 1982 with two classes – Junior and Senior Infants – in Tullyvaraga hall where it was sited until 1987. In 1987, the classes moved into the new school building on the existing 3.5 acre site. Until 2012, St. Aidan’s only ever had one Principal, Mr Ger Loughnane, former Claire Hurling Manager. Mr. Loughnane dedicated 30 years of his life to St. Aidan’s and laid the corner stones for what St. Aidan’s is and has become. St. Aidan’s has gone from strength to strength over the years with an extension on 2013, 2015, and the opening of a special ASD class in 2021. Today works are also being carried out on.
