To celebrate Proclamation Day and the raising of our Tri-colour Flag we enjoyed a lovely afternoon at St. Aidan’s. Firstly, Sixth Class shared some of the history of the 1916 Rising and they read the 4th paragraph of the Proclamation. We then had a minute silence in remembrance of all the people who died during the 1916 Rising and we sang our National Anthem as the flag was raised. We then enjoyed some céilí dancing in the school playground and Mr. Conlon with Second Class showcased the traditional Irish sport of hurling. Overall a very special day in our school!
